In memory of our plight… we are here for you Palestine


The Palestinian Forum in Britain commemorated the fifty-ninth anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (calamity) in London and Manchester. The day which was attended by the Palestinian community in Britain and supporters of our just cause included many events.

Many organizations that also work for the Palestinian cause where also present on the day, such as Interpal and the Palestinian Return Centre.

The market at the London event was distinctive in its traditional Palestinian products which included Nablusian soap, Za’tar, Olive oil and hand-made clothes. Many pieces of art that portray the traditional way of life of the Palestinians was also on exhibition as well as many new films that tell the Palestinian tale, while the restaurant had on sale many popular Palestinian foods, such as Msakhan.

Children had their own programe that as well as ensuring they had fun included a session about Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Dr Hafiz Alkarmi, gave a speech where he stressed the importance of the Right-of-Return for Palestinian refugees wherever they are, and the day ended with a Nasheed and Dabka session by Alrawabi group which sang traditional Palestinian songs to the audience.
